Six Sentence Sunday #10

In Six Sentence Sunday, WIP on September 25, 2011 at 12:43 am

Welcome to my contribution to Six Sentence Sunday. My WIP in a contemporary romance tentatively entitled Swashbuckler. This week’s six are a continuation from the past two weeks-we’re in the middle of the novel and there has been a huge misunderstanding between Rodger and Rachel. They have run into one another unexpectedly at a restaurant in Costa Rica where Rodger was involved in a movie shoot.

Finally, Rachel found her voice, “I had no idea you were still here,” she said, tilting her head defiantly.

“Well, I am, and now you’re here–just how the hell did you find me?”

As if she’d traveled all this way to find him?! “Rodger, good to see your ego’s still intact,” she answered, knowing she had to get out of the restaurant fast before her temper blew and she said something she could never take back. Rachel looked around the restaurant, for the first time noticing they were the center of attention; big surprise there.

“No, Love, just holding onto my dignity,” he answered. His face had become flushed; clearly he was barely holding his emotions in check as well.

Jimmy Thomas is Tuesday’s Treat

In Tuesday Treat on September 20, 2011 at 8:00 am

My favorite close-up of Jimmy.

Today’s Tuesday Treat is International Cover Model, Jimmy Thomas, a very successful (and H-O-T) model featured on the cover of over 1,700 romance novels. With a ripped body, luscious brown hair, and a rugged look in his eyes, Jimmy has become the midnight fantasy of many writers and readers alike.

Rounding out the image of the handsome alpha-male, Jimmy is also a successful businessman, recently launching the website RomanceNovelCovers, the only stock photo web site that focuses specifically on romance novel covers. There, you can find over 3,000 photos of our Tuesday Treat.

The coolest thing about Jimmy, IMHO, is that he is very accessible to his fans. He’ll respond to Facebook posts–commenting and flirting, bringing those writers back for more.

I’m definitely looking forward to the day when I get to use him on one of my covers!

Even sleeping he's just too delicious for words.

And lastly. . . . .

I have a great week coming up for you-some book reviews, a concert review, an update on my love life (or lack thereof), and the delicious Jimmy Thomas featured as the Tuesday Treat.

So please sign-up and follow my blog. I’d love to double the number of followers–shouldn’t be hard to do considering I currently have 14 subscribers. :-)

Six Sentence Sunday #9

In Racy Scenes, Six Sentence Sunday, WIP, Work & Love & Spirit on September 18, 2011 at 12:21 am

Last week we saw Rachel’s reaction to running into Rodger unexpectedly. Now we get to see his. . . .

Rodger decided the next step for them and swiftly moved in, crushing his lips against hers. Rachel’s squeak of protest was lost in the onslaught as her body welcomed those kisses, her blood surging in an arousal that only Rodger seemed capable of creating.

Just as suddenly as it began, he yanked away, leaving her lips aching and alone, her emotions scattered. Rachel’s heart sank when she saw the scowl on his face.

“What the fuck are you doing here?”  Rodger growled.

“Wh-wh-what?” she stammered, taking a step backward that ended up bumping her against the table, trapping her in his glare.

Six Sentence Sunday #8

Today’s SSS is from Swashbuckler, my WIP.  After not seeing Rodger for months due to a misunderstanding, Rachel is shocked to see him walk into a restaurant where she is dining. Hoping to avoid him, she of course trips and falls. The wait staff have just helped her get up.

She felt a warm hand on her back that sent shivers of familiar pleasure down her legs. “Sure you’re alright, Love?” Rodger’s deep voice resonated to her core, his hot breath close enough to tickle her skin. He leaned over, reaching around to turn Rachel toward him. She looked up into his eyes, struck again by the deep green pools looking back at her; stunned that she’d missed those eyes more than she’d realized.

“Hi, Rodger,” was all she could manage as she gave him a small smile, desperate to hold roiling emotions in check. How could it be that seeing him made her want to weep, laugh, run away, and jump his delicious bones all at the same time?
